Welcome to WA WA!
We're so glad you found us! Read below for a welcome letter from our Camp Director, Lily Mercogliano!
Hello! I’m so excited that you have found Camp WA WA! We are truly a small camp that becomes a big camp family.
Our camp offers an awesome camp experience for youth ages 7 to 16, and for families of all ages. We are a diverse and welcoming community that celebrates the incredible individuals that make up our camp circle.
We are intentionally small in size and this means that we will get to know your camper and be able to support their choices and interests throughout the day, and they will get to know everyone by the end of a session.
Having a nurturing and safe camp experience is very important to our team! Our staff are dedicated and passionate about camper care. We have a nurse onsite, and our healthcare is certified by a licensed Nurse Practitioner who has been with our camp for nine years. We train for one week at the start of the summer before campers arrive, are certified in CPR/First Aid, and our lifeguards are all Red Cross certified and supervised by a certified Waterfront Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Instructor. Additionally, our team participates in on-going training throughout the summer and the off-season. We are ACA accredited and licensed by the State of Massachusetts.
I have been the Camp Director for the past seven years, and I also grew up at Camp WA WA and worked at all levels of program staff roles until I graduated from college and started my career in teaching. This is a camp that I love deeply and I’m happy to answer questions and concerns as your family begins this exciting adventure!
The easiest way to reach me is by emailing lily@smithpark.org and scheduling an appointment. We are a non-profit camp and are run by a team of volunteers. I am full-time in the summer and live onsite, however in the off-season I am part-time and my office hours are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Happy Camping!
Lily Mercogliano
